Money Is a Language
Money is not just math.
It is a language.
And like every language, you only become good at it by actually using it.
That is why I gave you control of your own money at 16.
Not because I expect you to be perfect.
I expect mistakes.
You will waste money sometimes.
You will buy things you regret.
You will change your mind.
You will realise some things are not worth it.
Good.
That is part of learning.
Small mistakes at 16 are much cheaper than big mistakes at 30.
One day, you will have to make real decisions for yourself:
Cars.
Loans.
Work.
Rent.
Relationships.
Lifestyle.
Freedom.
And most people simply follow whatever everyone else is doing.
Not because they are stupid.
Because they never learned how to think about money for themselves.
That is what I want you to avoid.
I do not want you blindly following the crowd.
I want you to understand how money actually works in real life.
Not just numbers on a screen.
I want you to feel:
- how hard it is to earn
- how quickly money disappears
- how desire works
- how advertising influences people
- how freedom feels when your expenses stay low
Because money is connected to almost everything.
Stress.
Choices.
Time.
Work.
Relationships.
Freedom.
When I was younger, I was taught:
“Save money.”
“Do not waste money.”
“Do not borrow money.”
Those lessons were not wrong.
But nobody really taught me how to use money.
So I reached my 40s before I truly understood it.
I had to learn through struggle.
Through mistakes.
Through rebuilding my life after things went wrong.
And honestly?
I wish I had started learning earlier.
That is why I let you practice now.
I will still give advice.
I will still make comments.
I will still annoy you sometimes with questions🤣
But in the end, your decisions must become your own.
Because one day I will not be there to make them for you.
And I do not want you entering adulthood afraid of money, controlled by money, or blindly chasing what everyone else says matters.
I want you to think for yourself.
Money is not just about buying things.
It is about building a life.
And like every language, you only improve by using it.
