Episode 2 | “I’ll Invest After I Study” Means You’ll Never Start

Whenever investing comes up,
there’s a phrase I hear almost every time.

“I’ll start after I study a bit more.”
“I want to fully understand it first.”

I get it.
I used to think the same way.

But now, I’m certain of one thing.
As long as you choose that phrase, investing will never begin.

The reason is simple.

In investing, there is no such thing as
“fully understood,”
“completely safe,”
or “perfectly prepared.”

Markets move.
Rules change.
You only know what was right after the fact.

Which means:
You don’t study first and then start.
You start, and only then do you really learn.

Still, people hesitate.
They don’t want to fail.
They don’t want to lose money.
They don’t want to look foolish.

So they wrap hesitation in the word “study”
and use it to delay action.

But reality works the other way around.

You put in a small amount.
You watch prices move.
Your emotions react.
And suddenly you notice things like:
“Oh, this is where I hesitate.”
“This is where greed shows up.”

That awareness doesn’t come from books or videos.

The most important thing in investing
isn’t how much you know.
It’s how well you know yourself.

And you only meet your real self
once your own money is involved.

Of course, you need basic knowledge.
But that knowledge isn’t there to make you feel safe.
It’s just a map to keep you moving.

Studying isn’t meant to stop you.
It’s meant to run alongside action.

Investing isn’t an exam.
There’s no pass mark before you’re allowed to join.

Today is the youngest day you’ll ever be.
So today, even a small step counts.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need confidence.

The people who don’t stop
are the ones who look back one day
and realise the view has quietly changed.

That’s why I keep going.
Calmly. Consistently.
